1st May 2009 - Sooo close
I'm £17.67 away to raising my first £1000 for my orangutan conservation trip. I'm £12.50 away from reaching my JW goes Orange Orangutan Foundation target, and I'm £2.50 away from raising my first £100 for the Orangutan Foundation. I'm sooo close to all of these mini targets!
I just wanted to show you the prettiness of the Bird Cherry tree that I helped to plant over a year ago. It's blossoming now - have a look.
That photo was taken a little while ago by my friends. I went to see it today, and found out that the tree is taller than me, and that all the bulbs are sprouting around it too. My boyfriend noticed that one of the branches was broken compared to the photo - booo! If a vandal did that on purpose then I'm not impressed, got it?! Not impressed! Still, it could be worse. Little Bird Cherry seems to be surviving, just if there's someone planning to pick a branch-full of pretty blossoms from this tree, please don't, it doesn't have many branches - please leave it there so everyone else can admire it too and watch it grow!
30th May 2009 - £1100 TARGET REACHED!
Woohooo, reaching £1100 happened a few days ago but it's still worth celebrating now. My head is surfacing from the sea of University work and I am paddling towards the shore, however I have one more hand-in and a University Graduate Show to take part in. I only have £6 more to collect for my JW Universe goes Orange fundraising, so if I get it soon enough I might have to be bright orange in front of a load of people looking around the show! Come on, you know you want that to happen.
For those of you who like reading interesting orangutan-related stories past JW Universe, take a look at Lucy Wisdom's story. Inspiring!
