10th September 2008 - Multiplying orangutans
Hello, I haven't forgotten you all; I've just been to see my Dad but forgot that I couldn't upload diary entries there. Iíve had a really fun time and Iíve also made lots more orangutan models to sell - here they are! They're selling quite quickly already (I'm ever so pleased) and I will be making more.

Another pet portrait is in the works and I haven't forgotten the Discworld Convention photos - I'll put them up as soon as I've updated the rest of my shop.

15th September 2008 - £700 TARGET REACHED!
The target was actually reached a few days ago. I have a feeling I'd been forgetting to write my "target reached" diary headings but now I've remembered again.

I've set up a Justgiving page today to help raise money for the Orangutan Foundation. Here it is. Just to reconfirm - I'm still raising money for my conservation trip but that Justgiving page is for my Orangutan Foundation charity fund-raising, not my trip fund-raising. If you want to see me looking super orange, please sponsor me on that page!

Halloween, ghost and orangutan-lovers will enjoy some of my next few Necklace Jungle Orangutans. As a Halloween special, I'm going to make some Ghosty Orangutans. They may glow in the dark, glitter or seem semi-see through instead of being orange like the living inhabitants, but they still need good homes! They aren't up just yet but I'll write on my main news page when they are.

Finally here are some photos from my Birthday trip to the Discworld Convention 2008! The Orangutan Foundation were there so I chatted to them and went to their presentation. They loved my little postcards and seemed to enjoy hearing about my trip. They had their own little stall to sell Orangutan Foundation goodies on. I did want to take a photo of them and their stall but unfortunately they couldn't make it on the first day, then after I thought about taking a stall photo, when I actually had time to go back and take a photo the stalls had either packed up or where on their lunch. Oops!

Ook!
The Librarian says "ook" - what a cool puppet! For those not into Discworld, the Librarian is a character in the books who was turned into an orangutan. He seems to like being an orangutan but don't call him a monkey else he'll get mad!

Guess who
Who could this be...?

Terry!
Terry Pratchett! Here he is about to read us a bedtime story - part of his new book, Nation. I wish I got more good photos of him, but I didn't want to bother him too much and I was rather shy. I got to talk to him though, and said goodbye to him before I left.

Meee!
Me as an assassin. Considering my guild I don't think anyone wants my kind of express check out!

My charity picture
I'm a nice assassin though - I made lots of great friends and also drew a picture to be auctioned off in the charity auction as part of the Bestiary (book of beasts). Chris helped me come up with its story and I drew the picture.

My charity picture
The finished picture.

Octavo
There were other things in the auction; here is the Octavo, a powerful book of magic...

Octavo
... and its locks...

Octavo
... and its stand. These were props from a Discworld film (The Colour of Magic)

Book
You could also bid for many other things, including book proofs.

That's just a smidgen of what happened at the convention. I'm not going to put all the photos up here else the page will go on for ages, but I hope you've enjoyed looking at what I have put up!

23rd September 2008 - £800 TARGET REACHED!
Wahey, the donations have been bumped over the £800 mark; excellent work people! It happened a few days ago and it's due to go up more soon.

My Necklace Jungle Orangutans are finding lots of good guardians; I am so happy! I need to make some more, and I'm going to see if there'll be a Christmas Craft fair at my university. If there is and I make enough orangutans then I would love to have a stall full of them. I would take photos too!
